"Wissett seems to lull asleep all ambition. Don't you think they have discovered the secret of life?" So said Virginia Woolf after the Bloomsbury artists and aesthetes spent a few months of 1916 in this glorious little Suffolk village; it remains much as it was then. Close to the cottage is a pretty Saxon church with one of East Anglia's earliest treasured round towers.

There is a local shop and pub in the village, and there is an excellent range of shops in nearby Halesworth. An ideal location for walking, cycling and exploring the magical coastline of north Suffolk, with Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich Heath and RSPB Minsmere all close by.
