Holly Meadow Cottage is a 16th-century, Grade 2 listed cottage tucked away in the lovely and interesting village of Bramfield, ideal for those who want to visit Southwold, the wonderful nature reserve of Minsmere and the 'lost city' of Dunwich.
Bramfield itself has a church with separate tower, a 'castle yard', and - just across the road - the Queen's Head, voted Suffolk Dining Pub of the Year (2001 and 2002)
The cottage is quaint and cosy and makes a lovely retreat for exploring both the heritage coast and the 'lost' villages of mid Suffolk.
For lots of information on the area please look at our own online guide http://www.visit-suffolkcoast.co.uk
Eating and Drinking elsewhere: The Cut at Halesworth does great food and there are several excellent organic food shops as well as a large supermarket. Also The Angel in Halesworth at the top of Thoroughfare has an Italian restaurant. If you are looking for really fresh fish then wander down to Southwold Harbour, where you can buy fresh fish or go to the fish restaurant for some lovely shell fish. The Harbour Inn does great fish and chips. The Anchor at Walberswick is also excellent.
Out and About: Beachwear for the beautiful beaches of Walberswick and Southwold and walking boots to explore the heaths at Wenhaston, Dunwich or Minsmere.
