An extremely popular town, Southwold, sometime described as ‘Hampstead by the sea’, is just the place for those with a desire to get away from the freneticism of the 21st century. It really is a bit of a time warp, like revisiting England of the ‘20s and ‘30s!
Lighthouse, pier, sandy beach and beach huts – all the glories of the best of English seaside towns. But there’s much more: fishing huts and fresh fish, fine foods and excellent restaurants, bookshops, galleries and dress shops. All this, overlooked by the famous Southwold lighthouse and the even more famous Adnams Brewery Company.
