SOUTHWOLD 9miles (14.5km), ALDEBURGH 8.5miles (14km), DUNWICH 2miles (4km), ORFORD 18miles (29km), WOODBRIDGE 20miles (33km)

An ideal location for anyone enjoying walking, bird watching, cycling or simply exploring Suffolk’s finest beaches. Surrounded by ancient heath land, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Westleton is just a couple of miles from the world famous RSPB Minsmere and from Dunwich Heath, beach and ‘lost’ City. Southwold, Aldeburgh and Snape (home of the Aldeburgh Festival) are about eight miles away.

Westleton is typical of the best of Suffolk villages. A large village green, with duck pond, surrounded by mature trees, picture postcard cottages and a fine old coaching inn. The thatched church, built in 1340, is well worth a visit. The village also boasts an excellent local shop and post office, a fascinating second hand bookshop, a restaurant and a tearoom.

Darsham, with its cycle hire and railway station (London in two hours) within a couple of miles and loads of country lanes and byways to explore, High Oaks makes a superb base.
