Please note this property is only suitable for adults and children of at least 12 years old.
Extremely well fitted throughout the house provides spacious and comfortable accommodation for a really special break in Suffolk. With wonderful views over Thorpeness Meare, a great favourite with children and adults alike, the house is within yards of Thorpeness Golf course, one of the most attractive and popular golf courses on the East Coast, tennis courts and of course Thorpeness beach.
There is a good sized garden, with terrace, shrub beds and large central lawned area to the front. A picket gate leads to the road and the Meare beyond. To the rear of the house is a patio area, garage (locked) and parking for two cars. There is a private road leading to the rear of the house, great for unloading shopping etc. Just a minute's walk from the sea, and the excellent amenities of Thorpeness itself.
Inside The Bays has been extensively refurbished to provide all the luxury and comfort of the 21st century, whilst retaining the tranquility and delight of its Arts and Crafts design. Looking out over the Meare, a wildlife rich lake, with rowing boats and punts for hire, it is easy to imagine Thorpeness's earlier inhabitants - well to do Edwardians with their striped blazers, polished canes and panama hats. With a lovely sandy beach and clinker built fishing boats, Thorpeness was and still is a perfect destination for a really relaxing and healthy English holiday. Every need has been catered for and Thorpeness has an attractive Country club with tennis courts, superb 18 hole heathland golf course, an excellent pub and a village shop which sells both the essentials and a wide variety of delightful preprepared meals and culinary delicacies. Riding can be arranged nearby, a hack along the beach is an experience not to be missed. Beyond the village, there are lovely heathland and seaside walks, with the opportunity for birdwatching at Westwood Marshes (RSPB) all a short walk away from the house. Near by is Aldeburgh, home of the Aldeburgh Festival, RSPB Minsmere, Dunwich and Southwold.
