WOODBRIDGE 1mile (1.6km),ORFORD 11miles (17km) BAWDSEY 10miles (14km) SNAPE 12 miles (19km) ALDEBURGH 19miles (31km),

Within a conservation area Melton is just a mile or so from Woodbridge, and close to the river Deben, was both home to and inspiration for the painter, Thomas Churchyard. Today Melton has a village shop, pub and good fish and chip shop as well as being superbly placed (just 5 minutes walk) from the sleepy East Suffolk line making the Coach House ideal for anyone wishing to enjoy the delights of the Suffolk Coast without a car.

Sutton Hoo, the famous Saxon burial ground, is just a mile away and there are many delightful riverside and heathland walks and cycle rides in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just a few miles from the property.

The Suffolk Coast at Bawdsey (home to Britain s first radar station) is 10 miles and from here you can enjoy a trip on the foot ferry to Felixstowe Ferry. Nearest pub: The Horse and Groom, Melton 2 minutes walk
