Old England at its very best! There are few more attractive villages than Lower Ufford. Situated on the banks of the Deben River, this conservation village retains an excellent pub, super village shop specialising in local and organic produce and, at its centre, Church Walk. Lined by attractive Suffolk cottages it leads to the delightful 12th century village church, a building well worth visiting, both for its superb interior and attractive grounds - look out for the village stocks. Explore the immediate countryside around the village, the river walks and water meadows where Suffolk Punch and red poll graze. Within a couple of miles of Rendlesham Forest, the area is a walker's and cyclist's paradise.
Sleeping 2 people this large and luxurious apartment is just a short walk from the local Post Office, stores and excellent pub, The White Lion.
On the upper reaches of the River Deben, in the heart of pretty Lower Ufford, a village little changed by time, the Lime Cottage provides an ideal location for exploring the magical coastline and the last great lowland heaths and woods in Britain.
This part of Suffolk contains many delightful villages and towns, all well worth exploring. It is truly an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Close to the ancient market town of Woodbridge and Sutton Hoo, resting place of Saxon kings (National Trust), Lower Ufford is just a 15-minute drive from the Suffolk coast.
