A traditional beamed farmhouse dating back to the 17th century; Partridge Farm is set amidst acres of meadowland just outside the village of Bredfield, with local shop and pub. A real rural retreat the old farmhouse has substantial rooms with two wonderful fireplaces, one with log burning stove, the other open.
The beams of this attractive old building have a history all of their own, once the limbs of Suffolk sailing ships, built in Woodbridge and commissioned as part of the English fleet against the Spanish Armada or used in fishing boats which regularly sailed up the coast to the fishing waters around Iceland.
The farmhouse has been beautifully refurbished and will provide exceedingly comfortable accommodation for 8+. Surrounded by an acre of garden, both east and west facing, guests can enjoy outside dining at any time of the day.
There are two large ponds (both fenced) where holidaymakers can fish for tiddlers, make use of the little rowing boat or simply watch the kingfishers as they skim over the water.
A great place for children and adults alike there is table tennis, table football, adult and children's bikes and children's toys available.
Public footpaths from the grounds take you to the village, local shop and pub in one direction and the wonderful Boulge Church in the other direction(final resting place of Edward Fitzgerald, translator of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam). Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo, Bawdsey, Orford, Aldeburgh and Snape are all within a short drive and with the beautiful Suffolk coast close by you will want to make your holiday a long one. Nearest pub The Castle Inn, Bredfield - 10 minutes walk. A great pub with real ales and excellent restaurant
