A wonderful sea front property with uninterrupted views of Aldeburgh beach and the sea, Market Cross Place is in an excellent position within less than a minutes walk of all the High Street shops where you will find a great selection of boutique clothes shops, restaurants, pubs and good local produce.
The house has undergone a considerable amount of renovation and is ideally suited for a lazy break away from it all. With both a large and comfortable sitting room and first floor drawing room with balcony overlooking the sea, the house will suit adults and children in equal measure.
Aldeburgh, like its northern neighbour, Southwold, remains in something of a time warp. A fishing village for many hundreds of years, (fresh fish available daily from the fishermen on the beach) Aldeburgh became a popular resort for fashionable Victorians. Always a favourite haunt of writers and artists. Aldeburgh was made famous by composer, Benjamin Britten. Living and working in Aldeburgh, he set up the Aldeburgh Music Festival, which still attracts the world s finest performers. The Aldeburgh Festival has grown considerably and with the the Snape Maltings Concert Hall there are now concert performances in and around Aldeburgh throughout the year.
Today Aldeburgh is home to a year round programme of arts events including literary and poetry festivals, theatre, film and art exhibitions. Irresistable shops line the high street and there is a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, a very popular fish and chip shop and some fine pubs selling Adnams beer.
