SNAPE 2.5 mls(4km), ALDEBURGH 5.8 mls(9.3km), THORPENESS 6.5 mls (10.5km) Thought to be the oldest property in the village, Bay Tree Cottage retains all the very best features of a bygone age including a large inglenook fireplace and a wealth of studwork and beams.

Bay Tree Cottage provides a great base for visiting the attractive seaside towns and villages of the Suffolk coast including Thorpeness and Aldeburgh, both of which are within a couple of miles. The world famous international concert hall at Snape Maltings is within a few minutes drive.

In the tiny village of Benhall, and once part of the Benhall Lodge Estate, the cottage is close to the 18th century Sternfield House which was the meeting place for Churchill and Eisenhower when they were discussing how to defend the East coast against Nazi invasion. The post war home of the Queen's Equerry, Sternfield was a frequent weekend retreat both for Queen Elizabeth and her sister Princess Margaret.
