Aldeburgh 4.5miles, Thorpeness 3 miles, Snape 4 miles

Situated up a long farm track East Barn Cottage has been recently converted to a very high standard, providing spacious and comfortable living accommodation for 6. Outside is a spacious terrace with table and chairs overlooking the productive kitchen garden and beyond are arable fields reaching as far as the eye can see.

The village of Knodishall is quite small with just a shop and post office, a small garage, pub, garden centre (selling fresh seasonal veg) and a riding stable. The village lies within a belt of coastal heathland, part of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with footpaths leading across the heath and heathland golf course to Thorpeness and Aldeburgh. Walkers and birdwatchers will delight in the flora and fauna of the Sandling heaths.

Just a few minutes by car, Aldeburgh is a popular seaside town with a thriving high street, an attractive promonade and a gently sloping beach. Aldeburgh has a world famous golf course, sailing and yacht clubs, exdcellent shops selling local produce and fine restaurants. Thorpeness just a mile along the coast is a fascinating seaside village with a super boating lake, a mill and a lovely sandy beach as well as a country club and heathland golf course.

Within a few minutes drive of Snape Maltings Concert Hall, home of the Aldeburgh Festival, there is a complex of shops, restaurants and galleries.

There are some fabulous riverside and coastal walks and lots of opportunities for off road cycling and bird watching at Minsmere the RSPB reserve. Nearest pub The Butchers Arms, a minute's walk.

For lots of information on the area please look at our own online guide Visit Aldeburgh
