Quay View enjoys probably the most envious position in Orford with certainly the best uninterrupted views of the river Alde and its estuary.
SNAPE 5.5 miles (9km) ALDEBURGH 12 miles (17km) WOODBRIDGE 12 miles (19km)SOUTHWOLD 26 miles (42km)FRAMLINGHAM 13 miles (22km)

Orford, one of the most popular seaside villages in Suffolk, with its nationally acclaimed restaurants, picturesque houses, twelfth century church and Norman castle, still retains the peace and tranquillity which goes to make this area so special.

The cottage, one wing of a large traditional Suffolk house, is situated in a prime location on the quay beside the estuary and has wonderful views over the river. An ideal spot for anyone whether you want to go crabbing, sailing, bird watching, walking or simply sit and admire the view.

Being so close to Orford Quay it would be a shame to miss the opportunity of taking a boat trip either on Regardless or The Lady Florence which offers a variety of options such as a brunch cruise, a lunch or dinner cruise and even a cocktail supper cruise.

Havergate Island (RSPB) and Orford Ness (National Trust) are just a ferry ride away, while for music lovers there are concerts in the church as well as Snape and Aldeburgh, just a short car drive away.

"A wonderful weekend in Orford - just relaxing, a rare event indeed! Exploring old haunts; strolling around the village; admiring the snowdrops full out in the Churchyard; bird watching along the Alde Estuary and walking from Iken cliff to Iken Church; a picnic on the heathland; and a gorgeous meal in the Jolly Sailor. Best of all was our weekend 'home'. Fresh flowers, books, soft chairs, logs for a fire, a blissfully comfy bed, a bowl full of chocolate - and The View! We enjoyed a lie-in watching the dawn slowly break above the lighthouse, and watching the last glimmer of light at sunset. Fantastic!" B & R C-S.

"Our 2nd visit to Quay View - we booked this weekend as we were driving home from our first visit because we enjoyed it so much." September 2012

"This has been a perfect week. The location is excellent and the cottage is probably the best we've ever stayed in. It was a joy to come back to." October 2012

"The cottage & location are excellent, the cottage could not have been equipped or decorated any better, we love it." November 2012
