In the heart of this ever-popular seaside resort, Melody Cottage is very close to the beach, the high street and enjoys fantastic panoramic views over the River Alde. It is in a perfect location for a lovely seaside holiday for all the family.
SNAPE 5miles (8km) ORFORD 12miles (17km) WOODBRIDGE 20miles (33km) SOUTHWOLD 24miles (39km)

A quiet and unspoilt seaside resort in the heart of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Aldeburgh is well known for its music festival, sailing and fine Tudor and Georgian architecture.

Swimmers and wind surfers share the beach with traditional clinker built fishing boats, fresh fish from the beach daily!

The Alde estuary with its sailing and yacht clubs (a footpath leads from the cottage along the riverbank) makes this a favourite holiday location for sailors. As for birdwatchers, winter is the best time to view the black-tailed godwit and avocet or stroll across The Haven with its mosaic of shingle, dune grassland and fen and watch the marsh harrier swooping on its prey. Sailing, swimming, walking, bird watching, good food, music and the arts - Aldeburgh has it all.

For lots of information on the area please look at our own online guide Visit Aldeburgh

Just want to thank you - have just returned from a lovely weekend in Aldeburgh. Melody cottage was delightful. A wonderful time was had by all. Thank you Deborah C-K
