In the heart of Yoxford, famous for its attractive Georgian architecture, Ratty's Retreat is a traditional Suffolk cottage thoughtfully refurbished to provide spacious holiday accommodation for 3 or 4 (including a baby). Comfortable sitting room, large and well equipped kitchen and conservatory dining room leading to the sunny terraced garden - a great location from which to explore the Suffolk coast
Described as 'The Garden of Suffolk' by nature-writer Clement Scott, Yoxford is surrounded by some fine parks and gardens including Sibton Park, Hyde Park, Rookery Park and Cockfield Hall. The garden feel continues with Mulberry Garden, opposite the church, the village garden. In its heyday Yoxford was a stopping point for carriages on their way north. Today it is a far more sleepy village yet still retaining the requisites for holidaymakers including two food shops, a couple of pubs and a quality fish and chip shop.
Within a couple of miles of Peasenhall with its fine butchers and deli you can be assured that you are in for a feast of local produce.
The pretty village of Westleton is close by as is the lost city of Dunwich, now a tiny village (with fantastic museum) and a shingle beach. Both Southwold and Aldeburgh are within a 20 minute drive.
Nearest pub with food The Griffin, Yoxford
