Vincent Studio, Snape

About the Property

A really private first floor studio with large kitchen and bathroom and twenty foot studio area divided into a comfortable sitting room, dining area and bedroom (its privacy created by a large book case). Centrally heated throughout, the studio is warm and comfortable with extensive pastoral views.

Grounds

The property is set well back from the road, reached across the common opposite Snape church. There is a sweeping drive and car parking directly outside. The rear garden with its south facing terrace has table and chairs and use of a gas barbecue. Beyond the garden are the owners paddocks and meadows where you are welcome to walk your dog (if on a lead). From here you can walk miles across the heaths, down to the river or through the woods.

The owners (who live next door) have a swimming pool (in a poly tunnel) 4ft 6ins deep throughout which is heated from May to October. Guests are welcome to use the pool by arrangement with the owners.

Grounds:

The studio and the attached main house are situated in the midst of Snape common with views over the common to the church in one directions and over the meadows and fields toward the river Alde in the other direction. The garden itself stretches to around a third of an acre, the fields behind also belong to the owners and holidaymakers are welcome to access them.

A walk of around 10 minutes will take you to the Snape Maltings, the concert hall and the Alde river.

Parking:

There is parking for a couple of cars in the drive.

Vincent Studio is ideal for a couple with or without a baby - musicians be reassured there is space for a cello or double bass - but there is no piano!

Minimum Hire

Three nights; except in high season when it is a week. Changeover is usually a Friday.

Eating and Drinking:

Well you will be spoilt for choice at Vincent Studio; there is a village shop which includes a small off-license and sells daily papers and further down the road at Snape Maltings look out for The Food Hall - great deli and fudge and the monthly Farmers' Markets. If cooking is not your thing Vincent Studio would be a great choice. There are three pubs in the village, all of which use local produce on their menus. Great fish and chips at The Plough & Sail, amazing pizza and Italian style food at The Golden Key and lovely Sunday lunch at The Crown.

To do and to see:

Loads - Snape Maltings Concert Hall, home of Aldeburgh Music has a year-round programme of concerts, opera, jazz and ballet - something for everyone in fact. Down at the river you will find the RSPB Advice Centre and from April throughout the summer you can enjoy lovely boat trips along the river towards Iken in one direction and Aldeburgh in the other. This is a wonderful location for walkers; you can walk to Aldeburgh across the heaths and beside the river, wander through the woods and explore the river. Once in Aldeburgh you can enjoy the beach as well as the great restaurants, pubs and shops.
