Close to the estuary and the sea in Walberswick in a peaceful location - the perfect seaside holiday cottage.
Southwold 10 minutes walk over the bridge or using the ferry, 7.6 miles by road, Aldeburgh 15 miles, Halesworth 8 miles

The house: A traditional Suffolk cottage with large family kitchen / dining room and extension with further ground floor bedroom with en-suite shower (useful if you are bringing granny). The double bed in the extension is only 4ft so do bear this in mind if it is to be occupied by two adults.

The grounds: The whole garden is fenced making it great for young children as well as adults. There is a large terrace with barbecue, garden table and benches for outside eating. To the rear is a grassed area for games and relaxing. There is swing ball in the garden - a great favourite for all the family and crabbing lines and nets - A Walberswick special. Beyond the garden fence is a private parking area for up to 3 cars - gold dust!

Just a couple of yards from the village green where there is a small traditional play area for children, swings and slide etc, the cottage is tucked down a quiet lane within yards of The Bell pub and the waterfront, marshes and beach.

Dining: The kitchen is well equipped and has a good supply of toddlers bowls, plates and cutlery. The large dining table will accommodate the whole family. Outside table and benches are in a sheltered spot making is great for al fresco dining.

Two great pubs in the village; 600 years old The Bell has low ceilings and a wonderful atmosphere and The Anchor which serves excellent food and welcomes dogs as well as humans. There is a lovely tearoom, The Parish Lantern.

Just a short walk across the bridge and you reach the outskirts of Southwold. Down by the harbour is another great pub and a fish restaurant - simple but delicious. In Southwold itself is a large selection of great Adnams pubs, restaurants and tea rooms.

Children: A great holiday property for youngsters, travel cot, stair gates, high chair, they are all there ready for you. There are children's plates and cutlery sets and the garden is fully fenced and gated making it ideal for toddlers. Older children will enjoy the freedom of this wonderful seaside village. There are swings on the village green just seconds from Webster Cottage. Just yards from the mouth of the estuary and the sandy beach children can enjoy hours of fun. There is plenty of space for bikes to be stored and there are numerous tracks suitable for bikes both along the coast towards Dunwich in one direction and Southwold in the other and inland through the woods and across the heaths.

What to do: A sandy beach for summer swimming. The marshland around Walberswick is home to an incredible variety of birdlife and a favourite haunt of twitchers. The views are stunning, Walberswick has for many years been an "artists colony" and some of our best artists have painted the glories of Walberswick's wide skies and beautiful scenery.

Packing Tips: Bring your walking boots, your swimming costume and a beach towel, some good books, your binoculars and your bike - time for complete relaxation.

"We had a great stay. The cottage was fab. Very clean, well equipped and warm. The location perfect for what we wanted." Mrs G, Essex.
