About the property
Situated on a picturesque livestock farm, just north of Diss in Pulham St Mary, Farm Barn makes a wonderful base for a couple looking to explore Norfolk and northern areas of Suffolk. The farm is surrounded by remote and pretty countryside meaning nature lovers and walkers will not be disappointed. The owners of Oakleigh Grange Farm have lovingly renovated the Farm Barn into comfortable, spacious and well equipped accommodation; ideal for both short breaks and longer holidays. The sleeping accommodation comprises of a king size bedroom, but two full size singles can also be accessed via the main bedroom, meaning Farm Barn can also provide for couples with young children. Stair gate, socket covers, safety catches travel cot and booster high chair make this property baby friendly.
Grounds
Farm Barn is based on Oakleigh Grange Farm, which is a working livestock farm. The farm yard and surroundings are picturesque and there is plenty of off road parking. The small patio to the front of the property, with picnic bench and parasol, is ideal for outside dining and to the rear there is a private and grassed area of garden with slide and sandpit that can also be enjoyed by guests. The farm owners are happy to show families round the farm upon request... kids will love the calving seasons!
Sleeps
Sleeps 2+2 with one king size bedroom and two full-size singles which are accessed via the main bedroom. Please note, there is no door between the king size and twin room. The twin beds are not raised off the ground.
Minimum Hire
Farm Barn is available to rent for 3 nights minimum throughout the year.
Also
Please do not smoke inside Farm Barn. Two well behaved dogs are welcome, but should be kept on a lead whilst in the farm yard.
Self catering eating and drinking
Goodies Farm Shop is situated a 5 minute drive away, and is a wonderful place to stock up on holiday food. Buy meat for the BBQ at their award winning butchers; all locally reared in Norfolk and Suffolk. There is a fantastic cheese counter and delicatessen, and they also stock locally produced fruit and veg, wine, and a delicious selection of homemade cakes and breads. In fact, there is not much Goodies does not stock- you could spend a whole morning browsing their shelves.
Cycling or walking to the nearby village of Pulham St Mary is easy, where you will find a good village shop stocking newspapers and all the essentials.
Superstores, butchers, bakers, fish mongers, greengrocers, delis, pubs and restaurants can be found in the nearby market town of Diss. Worth a visit in its own right.
Long Stratton is just under 3 miles away has two pubs, supermarket, chemist, cafe, nearly new clothes boutique, hardware store, Indian, Chinese, Kebab Shop, Pizza Takeaway, and fabulous fish & chip shop and restaurant.
Eating and drinking out
The Farmhouse Restaurant at Goodies Farm Shop comes recommended for snacks and lunches. Enjoy delicious homemade dishes using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, such as steak and ale pie, or their popular pork and apple burgers. Tuck into a Goodies full English breakfast in preparation for a day of walking in this pretty area.
There are no shortage of good country pubs in the surrounding area, including two in the nearby village of Pulham Market (3 miles away), serving home cooked food daily.

TV/DVD player, a selection of books and DVDs, radio/CD player and ipod docking station, which charges and plays music from ipods and iphones.
Packing tips
The farmyard is tidy but wellies may be required if you fancy exploring the farm. There is an excellent network of footpaths to be explored so bring a walkers guide or ordnance Survey map of the area.

Dining area with table to seat 6 and dresser with radio and CD player

Shower room with large electric shower, wash basin, w.c, heated towel rail and cabinet
Just outside the shower room is a double wardrobe with drawers - handily placed for getting dressed in the bathroom
King side bedroom with bedside tables and lamps, ipod dock and hanging rails. Leads through to:
Twin bedroom with two full size Z-beds. Please note the beds are not raised from the floor and there is no door between this bedroom and the king size bedroom
Courtyard overlooking farmyard to the front with table, chairs and parasol. Grassy area to rear including slide and sandpit.
