The property: Completely refurbished in 2012, The Garden House provides spacious and extremely comfortable accommodation with a large open plan living room with wood burning stove and French doors to the garden to the west and verandah to the south looking out over paddocks and rolling countryside beyond. The perfect property for a couple wanting to get away from it all.
Stripped wood floors, clean modern lines and calm comfort throughout.
Outside: Set within the grounds of a large country house, a long drive leads up to this pavilion style cottage. The large roofed verandah is ideal for al fresco eating or reading even if it is raining. Uninterrupted views over rolling countryside towards Woodbridge and the coast.
You are welcome to use the owner's tennis court from Monday to Friday and by arrangement at weekends. Lovely country walks from your doorstep.
Parking: There is designated off road parking for 1 car. Sleeps: Two - the double bed is a king. The dressing room can easily be used as a nursery and both a cot and high chair are provided.
Self catering eating and drinking:
The kitchen is quite compact but includes all those little extras which transform cooking from a chore into a pleasure. There is a fridge with small freezer compartment and the oven includes combi oven with microwave.
There is a barbecue and garden table and chairs and the fabulous outdoor lighting will help to make outdoor eating a real treat.
Eating Out: There is a great country pub, The Turks Head, in the village of Hasketon as well as a marvellous choice of restaurants and pubs in Woodbridge. The British Larder is also one to try for those with a good appetite and an appreciation of fine cuisine. Receiving great reviews
A gastro pub worth visiting is the Grundsburgh Dog just a couple of miles from the cottage. Nice food and good local beers.
Woodbridge Farmers Market is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month; a great place to stock up on locally-sourced produce. A regular fruit and veg market is also held in Woodbridge every Thursday, and there are plenty of good farm shops a short drive away, the closest and one of the best being Grange Farm Shop, Haskerton
