Meet The Owner: Rowhedge Farm Cottage

Interested in holiday letting? Meet one of our lovely owners, who owns the gorgeous Rowhedge Farm Cottage in the quiet village of Alpheton, to find out more.

Meet The Owner: Rowhedge Farm CottageQ: How long has Rowhedge Farm Cottage been a part of the Suffolk Cottage Holidays family?

A: Rowhedge Cottage joined in June 2017

Q: What made you choose Suffolk Cottage Holidays as a letting agency for Rowhedge Farm Cottage?

A: We chose Suffolk Cottage Holidays because the name ‘Suffolk’ is synonymous with where we live and we felt that being in a village that is so integral to Suffolk then who better to help us rent our cottage out, we  have also stayed in several of their cottages in Orford, a favourite place of ours.

Q: What have you enjoyed about our service to you as an owner so far?

A: The customer service is impeccable, its very considerate that if there is a last minute booking then they call before to check that it is suitable to take it. (Probably realising that I spend too much time in the garden rather than checking my emails!)

Q: What was it that first inspired you to start letting Rowhedge Farm Cottage?

A: I was fortunate enough to marry my husband, a farmer in May 2017, shortly before this we relocated to our current house with the cottage in the garden, It had sat empty for the previous 5 years, so as my new role as Farmers Wife, I decided that the Farm was finally to have a holiday Cottage, allowing other people to enjoy our wonderful surroundings as well as bringing in a steady income.

Q: What advice would you give to anybody interested in letting out their property as a holiday cottage?

A; Cake! I always give the tenants homemade cake and they seem to love it, comments on the cake usually make the guest book more than anything else! Even if you don’t have all the time in the world batch cook, my freezer is chocca block with Lemon Drizzle and Scones, when I have the time I make masses, freeze it in batches for four people and get it out ready for the next arrivals.
