Sammy's Suffolk - July
Published: Monday 3rd Jul 2017
I popped into thein the Suffolk Cottage Holidays shop in Aldeburgh High Street. There's a real buzz in the air which can only mean one thing... the Summer high season must be around the corner! I'm looking forward to welcoming you children and your mum's and dad's to the Suffolk coast to enjoy all the wonderful activities. There's so much to do from crabbing to sailing on Thorpeness meare, building sandcastles to paddling in the sea! What are you most looking forward to on your holiday to Suffolk?
I've been enjoying travelling around with my friends at Suffolk Cottage Holidays as they visit, inspect and photograph their numerous cottages throughout the county. In the picture above you'll see I have been testing the new beds at Pantiles in Aldeburgh, having fun in the playroom at a brand new property The Cottage in Scole AND I even went on an evening trip to Felixstowe Ferry (but I was feeling rather tired after all my exploring so Lauren from the Suffolk Cottage Holidays team very kindly gave me a lift in her car). So let me tell you a bit more about the two cottages I have visited this month...
My friends at Suffolk Cottage Holidays have been waiting with much anticipation for the first visit of Pantiles since its' refurbishment. The owners decided last year to convert the loft and re-decorate throughout and the results are simply amazing! In the collage above you can see me trying out the new beds in the top left hand and bottom right hand corners - this means that Pantiles now sleeps 7 in 1 superking, 2 twins and 1 single - plus it has an off-street parking space too! The loft conversion has to be my favourite new feature; the Velux windows open out to become balconies - and if you look closely you can even see the sea! In the middle photo of the collage you can see me surveying the rooftops and my watery home beyond... The addition of the loft bedroom has meant that the downstairs layout of this deceptively large bungalow has changed somewhat for the better. The long corridor leads to an open plan sitting, kitchen and dining area. Bold pops of yellow and red reflect the modernity of the space and the clever furnishings and fittings make this place perfect for families wishing to explore one of my favourite seaside towns: Aldeburgh.
The Cottage, Scole
Do you like all things new and exciting? Well look no further than The Cottage - the latest property to join the family at Suffolk Cottage Holidays. I was so excited when I was taken along for my first visit whilst the team took photographs and made copy for the website, it gave me the chance to explore by myself! This property is actually HUGE, I mean it goes on and on and on! There are 3 reception rooms - a cosy sitting room with exposed wooden beams and woodburning stove, a large and bright garden room/conservatory and a good sized children's play room/teenage den (you can see me checking out the sofa in the collage above). The kitchen/diner oozes cottage charm - if its a country kitchen you're looking for then you'll find it here. The playroom and sitting room both come complete with SmartTV's - showing Netflix - so you stay connected to the outside world without having the stresses of everyday life. Upstairs you will find 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin) and a family bathroom. What's more your doggie family member can come too - I'm sure they'll love exploring the fenced garden to the front. Scole itself is on the borders of the market town of Diss and within minutes of Bressingham Steam Museum and Banham Zoo. The train station has links to London every half an hour so if you want to escape city life we could think of nowhere better. Open for bookings from 21 July - if you need a last minute August holiday get in touch with the bookings team on 01394 389189.
So that's just about me finished for July! I'm really looking forward to all the adventures I will get up to between now and August. I love to hear from you, so don't forget to share your Sammy the Seal adventures with me on Facebook or Instagram by using #SammytheSuffolkSeal - who knows? You may even feature on my blog next month!
