After a short break to allow for some upgrade and refurbishment work to the shower room, Ferry Cottage, Orford once again returns to our portfolio!
A deceptively spacious cottage, Ferry Cottage has the benefit of off-street parking for up to three cars (absolute gold dust in Orford!), a private, enclosed garden and a bright and warm conservatory.
Ferry Cottage really is the ultimate property for all seasons. Just imagine the warmth and sound of crackling wood on the open fire in the sitting room as you gather round a board game or cuddle up in the armchair with a book after a bracing walk along the Suffolk coastline. Dream of the endless summer days breathing in the fresh sea air and the smoky scents of hearty barbecues, filled with grilled fish from Pinneys, just next door, or the famous Aldeburgh fish huts, just a 20 minute drive away.
Grandparents will love afternoon snoozes after a Sunday roast in the lovely conservatory - packed full of magazines, comfy cushioned cane furniture and complete with radio - it really is toasty and warm in here, even after glimpses of spring sunshine… For children, there is plenty to keep them amused. Teenagers will love you for booking a cottage with a good WiFi connection, whilst younger ones will enjoy trying out the selection of kids toys and books provided thoughtfully by the owner.
Should the sun and surroundings coax you away from the boundaries of the cottage then there is plenty to explore without having to start the car. Keen photographers, birdwatchers and walkers will love exploring the surrounding coastal and countryside footpaths. The Orford area is teeming with history - you need only look at the Castle to imagine the area under Henry II’s reign. Ferry Cottage, too, is only steps away from the stunning Quay, which showcases glimpses of Orford Ness and Lighthouse in the distance (we certainly recommend a visit), boats bobbing on the water and children trying their luck at crabbing. A delightful scene that you really do need to experience yourself - keen painters come armed with your easel - you’ll want to capture this captivating atmosphere.
So we are sure you will agree, Ferry Cottage certainly ticks the three key boxes of Size, Location and Facilities. Have we convinced you enough to book your stay?
