After a period of renovation, we’re very excited to reveal that Whitewalls, Snape has returned to our portfolio! A much loved family holiday cottage just seconds from Snape Maltings, Whitewalls still holds its cottage charm, whilst benefitting from some modern upgrades.
Pulling up to the cottage, and making use of the off-street parking space, you can really admire the work that the owners have spent careful time and consideration in planning. A two storey extension has been built at the rear of the property, providing room for a new kitchen, ground floor shower room, family shower room and additional bedroom. These additions make the cottage perfect for 6. Modern sensor lights kick in from the inside of the property, illuminating the front door and hallway - no need to hunt for a lightswitch! You enter into the new extension, where clever lighting and velux windows help to make the space feel bright and open. The new, straight staircase is a vast improvement, the added ground floor shower room a bonus.
The new kitchen truly is a million miles away from the dark, galley kitchen that stood before. Your attention is drawn to the central island which houses the oven and useful breakfast bar. The rear wall is fully fitted with cupboards and mod-cons including washing machine and tumble dryer. There’s plenty of storage space in the surrounding dressers and shelves - the owner has also left a selection of cookery books should you wish to cook up a storm! Perhaps one of the greatest additions is the bi-folding doors which lead out to the garden - so ideal for summer barbecues.
If it’s cottage features you’re looking for then the dining room and sitting room do not disappoint. Exposed wooden beams line the ceilings, a wood burning stove inhabits in the old inglenook fireplace and an original bread oven alludes to Whitewalls in yesteryear. Stand in the dining room and look down. You may be thinking that the flooring is a little different to the normal, standard tile. These are actually pamment tiles, once used within the maltings house at Snape Maltings!
