Beautiful countryside

If the hustle and bustle of Christmas Markets isn't your then why not explore the amazing Suffolk coast and countryside in all it's winter glory?

Suffolk is beautiful at any time of year and the Winter months are often thought as dreary and dull. It couldn’t be further from the truth! With less people around you can really appreciate the stunning landscapes and skylines that we have here in Suffolk. With so many wonderful walks to explore, whether it be coastal or woodland, simply wrap up warm and get ready for some stunning views and plenty of fresh air!

Some of our favourites include Flatford - immerse yourself in the transquility of the glorious River Stour, Framlingham - explore the countryside surrounding the historical town of Framlingham, you could even take a trip to the ‘Castle on the hill’, Dunwich – take a bracing walk along the beach followed by a cosy drink in The Ship Inn, what could be better?

If you prefer stay indoors then visit one of the many Historical buildings that we have in Suffolk. Ickworth house near Bury St Edmunds is one to add to your list, and they have a whole host of winter activities for you and your family to get involved in. For something a bit different you could take a visit to The Guildhall at Lavenham as part of the guided Lantern Walk allowing you to explore this beautiful  town in a completely different way.

Relax and unwind

If you’d rather take a much more relaxing approach to the festive season, then the Weavers Spa at The Swan in Lavenhan in the place for you. Take time out for yourself and indulge in some 'me' time after a hectic year... utter bliss!
