Heart of Suffolk
The Heart of Suffolk is made up of a number of picturesque towns and villages located in the central part of the county. In this vast expanse of countryside there is so much to discover and is best know for its connection to famous singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran who was brought up in the market town of Framlingham. Surrounded by mostly arable fields and with a wealth of delightful towns and villages to explore, there is plenty to keep you busy.
Framlingham itself is extremely popular all year round and is a hub of activity, particularly at weekends. There are many excellent local, independent shops in the market square as well as a selection of excellent dining pubs including Ed Sheeran's favourite, The Station.
There are so many winding country lanes leading in and out of this part of Suffolk, perfect for a relaxing drive in the sunshine. You'll see so many little footpaths where you can simply park up and go for a stroll at your leisure. This area is particularly flat which makes for stunning scenery and incredible views all year round. Early Summer is particularly beautiful when the landscape is so lush and green and the oil seed rape is in flower, resulting in fields of incredible, almost blinding yellow as far as the eye can see.
If you head West out of the county you'll come across the town of Needham Market and Stowmarket, where there are many excellent amenities and opportunities for a bit of retail therapy.
