Are you a couple looking for an escape from the modern world to a simpler way of life?... If so this cottage may be just what you are looking for ... Meadowsweet Cottage is a traditional timber-framed Suffolk cottage that has been lovingly restored by the owner. The cottage has been renovated to retain the original rustic charm of the building and furnished with both antique and modern pieces to give the cottage a charming yet utterly comfortable feel.
Meadowsweet Cottage is one of the oldest dwellings in Metfield, dating back to the 15th century with 16th-century additions. It has a plethora of beams and original floors and a large inglenook fireplace with a wood burner.
The location offers a wonderful setting in the Suffolk Coutryside, yet is only a 30 minute drive to Southwold and the Suffolk Coast via the market town of Halesworth, whilst the castle towns of Bungay, Eye and Framlingham are all within easy reach.
The charm of Meadowsweet is reflected in the great care and attention given to the design of the cottage which has the benefit of both a kitchen/dining room and a separate sitting room with a cosy wood burning stove. Upstairs you will find a double bedroom and one single bedroom and a bathroom complete with shower cubicle and cast iron roll top bath.
The cottage is centrally heated and also has a wood burning stove which makes it perfect for cosy evenings relaxing after a day's walking or exploring all that the area has to offer. There is also a private rear garden.
Please Note: The owners consider this property is unsuitable for the elderly/infirm and children under 8 because of the water feature in the garden and the steep stairs.

Due to its age the cottage has low beams and sloping wooden floors.
One well behaved dog is welcome at both Queenie's and Meadowsweet Cottages and the owner is happy to provide a crate for a dog should guests wish to go out for short periods without their pet. Pets are not allowed upstairs or on the furniture in the cottage but if your pet is likely to jump on to the furniture, please provide a throw to protect the upholstery and to keep the furniture in a clean condition for the next guests, who may not have pets.

The cottage is semi-detached and Queenie's cottage next door is also a holiday cottage owned by the same family.

What a lovely cottage- beautifully put together, extremely comfortable and everything a visitor could possibly want. We really appreciated coming to find a delicious cake and a bottle of wine- all-in-all charming and highly recommended.
Thank you for making us feel so welcome with all the thoughtful homely touches. From arriving to a warm cottage with fresh flowers on the table, to the lovely cake and bottle of wine and the information about the local area. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Meadowsweet Cottage.
Meadowsweet has everything that we could have wished for. It is very well equipped- I particularly liked the interesting range of books. The cottage, courtyard and garden were ideal for us and our puppy. Thank you for your warm welcome and generous hospitality.
Thank you so much, we have had a wonderful stay. Such a beautiful cottage.
